Shuttera ("the Extension", "we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome extension developed and maintained by RealTechnoLab. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Shuttera.

Privacy First: Shuttera is designed to capture and process screenshots locally on your device. We do not collect, sell, or transmit your screenshots or browsing data to our servers.

1. Information We Collect

Shuttera does not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal information or browsing data to our servers.

The extension is designed to perform screenshot capture and editing locally on your device.

2. Screenshots and Webpage Content

Shuttera may access the active webpage or tab only when necessary to perform a feature you explicitly request, including:

Capturing the visible area of a browser tab
Capturing an entire scrollable webpage
Creating delayed screenshots
Processing and stitching screenshots for full-page capture

Screenshots and webpage content are processed locally on your device. Your screenshots are not uploaded or transmitted to RealTechnoLab.

3. Screenshot Editing and Annotation

Shuttera provides local editing and annotation tools, including:

Arrows, rectangles, ellipses, and lines
Text labels
Highlights
Blur and redaction tools
Undo, redo, and reset functionality

All screenshot editing and annotation is performed locally in your browser or on your device.

4. Exported Files

Shuttera allows you to export screenshots as:

You may also copy screenshots directly to your clipboard. Exported files are generated locally. Shuttera does not upload your screenshots or exported files to our servers.

PDF export is powered by the open-source jsPDF library, which is bundled directly inside the extension package and runs entirely on your device. It does not make any network requests and does not transmit any data.

5. Browsing Information

Shuttera does not collect or transmit the following information:

Browsing history
Search history
Cookies
Login credentials
Form data
Personal messages
Financial information
Email addresses or phone numbers for tracking purposes
Account information

The extension may temporarily interact with webpage content only when required to perform a screenshot capture or related feature initiated by you.

6. Extension Permissions

Shuttera may request Chrome permissions necessary for its core functionality. These permissions may be used to:

Access the active tab when you initiate a screenshot (activeTab)
Run scripts required for full-page scrolling capture, and to temporarily hide fixed/sticky headers so they don't repeat in the stitched image (scripting)
Temporarily store the captured screenshot and your theme preference on your device (storage, unlimitedStorage)
Download exported PNG, JPG, or PDF files to your computer (downloads)
Copy your finished screenshot to your clipboard (clipboardWrite)
Stitch full-page screenshot slices into one image using an invisible, local canvas process (offscreen)

These permissions are not used to monitor your browsing activity, build advertising profiles, or collect personal information.

7. Local Storage

Shuttera stores the following locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

The screenshot image you most recently captured, temporarily, so it can be opened in the built-in editor. This is automatically overwritten each time you take a new screenshot.
Your selected theme preference (Auto, Light, or Dark)

This information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. It is removed automatically if you uninstall the extension.

8. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not:

Sell user data
Share screenshots with advertisers
Transfer screenshots to third parties
Use browsing data for advertising or profiling
Track users across websites
Use screenshots for analytics

9. Third-Party Services

Shuttera does not use third-party services to upload or process your screenshots or browsing data. The only third-party code included is the jsPDF library (see Section 4), which runs locally and does not communicate with any server.

If you choose to share an exported screenshot using another application, website, or service, that action is initiated and controlled by you and may be subject to that third party's own privacy policy.

10. Data Security

Because Shuttera processes screenshots locally on your device and does not transmit them to our servers, the extension is designed to minimize the collection and exposure of user data.

You are responsible for how you store, download, copy, or share your exported screenshots.

11. Children's Privacy

Shuttera does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, along with an updated effective date.
